Thailand’s well-known but under-promoted designer fashion and apparel industry received a major boost this month, with the official launch of the country's first and only English-language internet portal designed to promote all of the Bangkok Fashion City’s projects.
September 21, 2004 -- The launch follows a year-long preparation. The site has already been acknowledged as an important step in helping Thailand to become a regional fashion hub. The website receives hundreds of hits everyday and has created much buzz both inside as well as outside of the Thai fashion community.
Thailand Fashion Dot Net is your complete guide to Thai fashion professionals, including designers and fashion brand names, other fashion professionals and -services, associations and organizations, fashion information and news.
It is also a complete guide to the Bangkok Fashion City Extravaganza fashion shows & events. The website has listing for all exclusive shopping malls and centres, main shopping areas, including open-air and week-end markets.
The fashion portal provides information about purchasing designer clothing, leather goods, textiles, Thai silk and jewellery. In the near future Thailand Fashion Dot Net will publish newsletters with fashion news and Bangkok Fashion City information. There will be lots of sweepstakes and competitions for visitors to the site.
Thailand Fashion Dot Net will offer the fashion community a host of useful services: e-boutiques, online virtual showrooms, education and training, marketing, news distribution, B2B networking, web design, event listing and much more.
However, promoting the concept of “Bangkok Fashion City” is not only about clothes, designers, photographers, and fashion shows, but also knowledge and awareness of people’s lifestyles and taste, foreign as well as Thai.
